The World War II Memorial Rededication

On October 31, 2010 the Town Of Weymouth rededicated the World War II Memorial located in Columbian Square. This memorial, originally erected in 1947 through the efforts of the George R. Bean Post, had recently been refurbished by Matt Walsh, a Weymouth boy, as part of his Eagle Scout Project for Troop 2 of the Boy Scouts Of America.

Young Walsh was commended for his hard work by Commander Bill Durfee of the Senior Post 79 and Weymouth Veteran's Agent Frank Burke.

A ceremony was conducted in honor of those men named on the monument as it is carried out every Memorial Day.
